For over 90 years, American Legion Baseball has been teaching baseball players not only the right way to play the game on the field but how to conduct oneself off the field representing both their team and their country in a respectful manner. With 3,700 teams in all 50 States and Canada, American Legion Baseball enjoys a reputation as one of the most successful and tradition rich athletic leagues. Nearly 80,000 athletes grace the field wearing an American Legion uniform each year. Since the inception of American Legion Baseball, nearly 10-million players have participated on a team and nearly 60% of college players are Legion Baseball graduates. Eighty-one members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, are also Legion alum.

Our purpose is to articulate in youth a better understanding of the American way of life and to promote the principles of 100% Americanism. We aim to instill in the nation's youth a sincere desire to develop within themselves a feeling of citizenship, sportsmanship, loyalty, and team spirit. we hope to aid in the development of the physical fitness of our country's youth and to build our nation's future through our youth. We always adhere to the American Legion Code of Sportsmanship:

I will:

Keep the rules
Keep faith with my teammates
Keep my temper
Keep myself fit
Keep a stout heart in defeat
Keep my pride under in victory
Keep a sound soul, a clean mind, and a healthy body.
